Hardtop or coupe??

I know this is a stupid question, but it has always been a point of confusion for me. What are the main differences between a coupe and a hardtop??

The coupe generally has a post that seperates the front door window from the back side window. Most of the time, it's a lighter car as well as cheaper.

the fastest way to tell the diff. is that the back windows on a coupe pop out at the back. and a hardtop, the back windows roll all the way down like the front.

Sometimes a coupe will have fixed "B" pillars and or window frames on the doors. Hardtops generally do not have either.

So this leads me to ask is my Cordoba a coupe or Hardtop?

It has t-tops, so do I just say that? There are opera windows in the back, and no frame around the windows.

i would just say that if it has a post between the front and rear windows, then its a sedan
if not, probably a coupe

I assume a sedan is a 4 door, DMV has it down as a coupe but that doesn't mean too much.

Yeppers Commando, your Cordoba is a coupe. There's no glass to glass contact between the front and rear side windows. When that post between the windows and the opera glass went in, it became a t-top coupe.( Actually, there wasn't a Cordoba hard top built)

Oh ok, thanks, so for Cordobas there are coupes, t-top coupes, and the rare Cordoba convertible.

Was the convertible an after market ad on or a custom thing? I've never seen one. Ya oughta put Ultra rare on that critter. (and who'd you do your service with? 101st, 10 SFG and a few other places here)

I believe there were 100 aftermarket convertibles made.

Currently my unit is over in Afghanistan with the 101st, 82nd, and another division, would have gone with them if they had let me, but they are coming back in the next few weeks anyways.
