Heater core repair.

Well I got the heater core out on the weekend, and was able to get the heater valve rebuilt, but the local rad shop wants to charge $500 to re-core the heater core.

A) Does anyone know of a shop where I can send my core in and they can repair it, and send it back?

B) Is there a core from a later model that will fit, with or without modification?

c) What other 'fix' options are open to me?

Trying to find an option that dosen't involve spending $500:

You'll have to do some more looking--but you should be able to get a good or new core for a lot less than that. It's been a hell of a long time since I've had any radiator work done, but that seems like a lot to me. My **** you could come close to a brand new main radiator for that!!
