Intermittent Starting Problems for '66 Charger

Guys, I'm having a cold-crank problem with the new sled ('66 Charger with '70 Cuda 440 RB transplant, new starter, new battery, new MSD ignition system). When she is warm, she cranks strong and goes no problem. When cold-soaked overnight, she won't crank at all. Aftermarket ammeter shows a clear draw drop when the key is turned. If the starter relay has an intermittent glitch, I would not see the ammeter needle drop, yes? It seems as if the circuit is completing but the starter is not cranking. Just nothing. But it is a new starter so a bad solenoid seems unlikely. Previous owner claims he's never had this problem. The block ground wire is moderately corroded and needs to be replace, but a bad ground wouldn't be a cold-soak problem, plus the circuit is clearly completing. I don't get it.

Let me say again, I know it's not kosher to just jump into a forum like this and start asking newbie questions. But I've got some immediate problems with the new sled and I need some help keeping her going until I have time to properly deal with all her legacy problems.

If you checked the system with a test light and you know it getting power. Then it will be a bad solenoid. if its not getting power. Check the neutral safety switch adjustment.
