needed roadrunner expert
Hi again everybody and thinks for the help on the 71 barracuda. The deal fell though since the car wasnt near what he told me. Now I have found a 68 roadrunner which I plan on picking up this week, and I cant wait to start the restoration. While researching though, I came across something that confused me. It seems that the roadrunners didnt come with carpet(among other options), since they decided to cut the luxury options and bring back muscle cars the way they were intended...It went on to say that because of this, the car included just rubber mats on the floor and a bench seat. This is all fine by me, but Im not sure if Im understanding that correctly. All the 68's ive seen have carpet, and even on the internet they all have carpet as well. If they didnt, would it just be the floor pans just out and in the open with a rubber mat under my feet, or am I missing something. Were the floor pans painted, or did they have something covering them? I have no idea so... I also heard(though didnt confirm) that the 68's also didnt come with a radio, and maybe not power steering and brakes either. I would love for a mopar expert to help me out and fill me in. I am still a little new to the classic car scene, and am trying to obtain as much knowledge as I can...especially if it involves my upcoming project. Im shooting for all original...or at least the right parts and looks for it. Ive been trying to find all of this out for the better part of 2 hours, and cant seem to find anything else.
thanks alot.
I appreciate any and all imput.

I'm not sure, but I think what they meant by "no carpet" is a "floor carpet" of inexpensive thin rubber, much like pickups used to come with. I don't remember seeing one with "bare floorpans"
So far as a radio, I'm unsure. Back in those days, you could order or "delete" most anything
So far as power steering and brakes, I venture that probably the majority of 68-69 383 RR's came with manual steering and brakes. The brakes weren't all that bad. My '69 383 had nice big 11 inchers, and if in good shape, it stopped "ok".
