Power steering conversion

Hi all,

I'm wanting to convert my 70 roadrunner to power steering. Short of purchasing everything new, does anybody know if 68-69 b-body cars had the same steering setup as the 70? There seems to be more of those around this area than 70 models, at least in terms of donor possibilities.
So, would a power steering column from a 68-69 fit my 70?
Thanks,
Marty

Marty,

Doesn't the 70 have a locking steering column? I think the steering shaft would need to be changed out, not the entire column unless you happen to have one laying around, the shaft is a little longer on the manual steer cars and not sure if the earlier shaft from a 68-69 would work or not, The locking plate may keep you from using an earlier steering shaft on your particular application.

If you find out the earlier shaft will work for you, i might have a parts column I could rob one out of, don't have any 70 stuff, just 68-9..
