problem finding headers that fit 472 with starter

I have 472 in my 69 bee and put a 518 overdrive trans now my TTI exhaust wont fit close with starter. Will hooker headers have different bends that fit?:(

I read somewhere that the mini-starter off of some of the V-8 Dakotas is more than strong enough to turn a big-block stroker. Try that avenue.

just go with manifolds

So the man has a stroked motor, [flowing more than the factory ever intended] ,and your advice is to go with factory manifolds?

why not, they fit, won't leak, cheaper, and unless your racing every weekend what little performance lost won't be noticable, and they can be jet hot coated

Go the starter route..... I turn over a 454" big block with one and its a 14 to 1 motor.... No problems at all........

I"m running a 500 C.I. stroker ,and it's being turned over by a mid 90s Dakota starter with no problems, cost me $70 @ Autozone. Depending on the headers and application some header manufacturers say you might have to slightly modify your closest header tube,no big deal and you'll never see it or feel it.You will have to take the piece where your cables hookup off the starter and connect directly to the posts on the starter. If you Google it you will find more info on using stock Chrysler mini starters. STOCK MANIFOLDS NEVER,that would be like you trying to breath with a plastic bag over your head. Hope this is of some help to you . BobAttachment 17224
