Question about 66 coronet rocker molding.
 

Hi just wondering how to install the rocker molding on my 66 coronet 440 (has the long spear rocker trim, not the wide one like the chargers.) I have the clips but unsure about the ends where the holes are.. Is there some special clip that goes there or just drill into the sheet metal? Lastly does anyone have tips for the alignment so that its centered? Thanks

Thanks for the link Bob. I was just hoping someone with a 66 coronet 440 could chime in as the previous owners mechanic did a buchery on that rocker molding, so I have no idea/or info to work off of. Thanks

I had a 67 Coronet 440 I took those stupid moldings off when I had the car painted... They were plastic clips & the body had a nub that the molding clip fit onto. 66 may be different, I don't think so

Yea they are different. the 67 coronet uses the 66/67 charger ones (the wide molding). The 66 coronet 440 is year specific it's a thin spear looking one. The 66 coronet 500 has the same as the 66/67 charger.

I recently just found out that "The Mopar Shop" and "R/T Specialties" have started remaking the clips for the rocker molding. Just a heads up if anyone else needs clips. Not horribly expensive either i paid ~60 for the set for both sides.

Bob, the molding i speak of is the lower chrome one you see in my profile pic. It is before i did all the body work and painted it. I never noticed until putting it back together that some idiot drilled my molding (badly i may ad) and screwed it in to the rocker... I'm guessing they didn't have the clips or lost them when whoever took it off. I did just think of something else though. Does anyone know if the stock holes for my molding will center a coronet 500/charger wide molding instead? (using the appropriate wide molding clips of course)

If I remember rite... There was 2 metal stud/headed pins that stuck out for the clip to fassion too. I want to say like 8 or 10 sets. I would guess that possibly someone may have grinded them off in your case.
This is just kind of what I remember.... I could be totally off base !!!

Would that molding be the 1" or the 4" molding????

Rocker molding clips
 

Check Ebay part 371476177274 I used these nylon clips on my 66 Coronet rocker moldings and side trim. They can be cut to correct height (they are scored) and will push into the factory holes. Hope this helps.
