1965 Sport Fury
OK guys, need an opinion..
Got a lead on a 65 Sport Fury, 2 dr HT. I have NOT seen it yet, he is mailing me pics. What I am told:
My red Fury purse started this whole dialog...he asked, do you have a red Fury to match that? Want one? Anyway, the title is clean, the car is unmolested. He wants $3500. I will have to arrange shipping. So, sight unseen (even by me)...this seems really worth considering. Thoughts? For reference, and this is NOT THE SPECIFIC CAR, but a photo of one for reference...http://www.flickr.com/photos/jalopnik/3114941458/ |
never buy a car without looking at it
and that "rust free" part, that is NEVER true unless a car was sand blasted and then restored or under-coated, it will have rust 3500 dont seem to bad, but i'd find out all the numbers on it first, then check the paint and floorboards, etc... |
Oh I plan to do all that! :) I'm just trying to decide if I need this car 3500 green backs worth.
Out here in the desert of Texas and Arizona, cars are awesome. The dry heat and lack of rain does wonders for them. The cars overall look great....the people? Not so much...lol |
lol
my car is an arizona car under-neath is amazing on the car so, the odds are pretty good that the rust on the cars will be minimal |
Being I am from Texas it depends on what part of Tx it is from... remember we do have a coast and there is a rust problem there. East part of state is humid for the most part, trees/forests etc, but usually in the 40% range unless raining. No snow/ice for the most part although the Dallas area does get the 1X a year ice storm, West Tx Desert dry, start of the Tx Panhandle north dry also but we (in Amarillo) do have winters and salt is used on roadways. But for the most part a Tx car is USUALLY mostly rust free, and in MHO 3500. is a good price, and is a really good price if the car is as stated....
BTW welcome, as I am also new to forum. |
how did it turn out morrigan?

Kinda sounds identical to the add I saw for my 64. although it was local. The tranny rebuild peeked my intrest, the 64's and some 65's used a different valve body for the console shift than the 66 and onwards, which are hard to find (at least in these parts) which is why my 64 is sitting in the garage, waiting on parts! something to think about the car may be going so cheap because he can't afford to rebuild or replace that tranny!

I hope you get it,if it's not too bad.
