66 fury vip

Hey everybody! Jist picked up a sweet 66 fury vip 4dr hard top

Trying to find as much info as possible!!

One big question, it gets vapor lock after running for a while, I noticed right under the fuel line on the side of the head/intake that it is BLOWING AIR OUT??? Never seen air come out, only in? The guy I got it from said it's probably missing a baffle.
Where could I source this part? Im not finding anything online, maybe im not using the correct part name?
Any ideas greatly appreciated!

I am planning to rebuild card and do the intake seals, deck and polish the heads and do the front main seal, go through everything real good so having everything I need befor hand would be a good idea.

Also, I cant figure out how to post pictures? Lol
Thanks!

If you look at my gallery you can see a couple pics of engine & car

In one of the pics you can see where its blowing air out of the head, any ideas would be awesome!!
Also any help finding the ID on the block? General area to look?

If it is a correct 66 motor there should be casting numbers on the left side of the block. If it is a newer 383 68+ they should be on the right side of the motor.

as for the air coming out If I am correct there should be a block off plate on the top. I think that was to heat up the intake temp for cold starts If I am Correct.

Yeah there's a decent amount of air blowing out. Enough to blow starter fluid right back at me.
That's how I noticed it, was checking the intake seals and it sprayed me back LOL

I just rebuilt the carb. Anybody ever see one double stamped? I can't make out any #s because there's an old stamp, and some newer looking numbers right on top of each other. It's a Carter AFB 4bbl

I'm pulling the intake right now, got new valley pan and intake seals. Anybody know the torque specs for the intake? Not finding it online and my manual hasn't arrived yet
Thanks for the replies!

No more air leaking out I need to get the heads & intake decked, it's pretty rough around that port. Little bit of rtv sealed her up though. HUGE power gain

Also, does anybody know of any good reads in regards to rear diff? Think mine is about toast & I would love to replace & upgrade but I'm not all that knowledgeable in that area. Anything that would help help me understand the ratios & parts would be awesome. Can never learn enough, right

Look at Curries or Toms differential websites , I'm sure there's plenty others, one of them will have what you want.
