Hello chargerboy..........
car really looks good but is that really part of the frame (the rusted out part) i thought the body itself is a frame like the unibody ? what will it take to fix that and what does that part do ? is that part a bolt on or weld in ?
interested..........

The part that is rusted out is the rear 1/2 of the driver's side sub-frame rail. This is the same part that the upper control arm mounts to. The torsion bar supports and transmission cross member are also tied into this same frame. The passenger side isn't rusted through but I think it's thin. I believe the best way to fix the problem correctly would be to remove all of the front sheet metal, engine and transmission. Then, with all of the weight off the front end start rebuilding the frame rails by boxing and reinforcing using what is there as a pattern. I've seen some rust frame repair kits for C-bodys on http://autorust.com/store/index.php?...6db56176821c91
While at all the repairs I would highly recommend installing sub frame connectors. Hope this helps, just want her to go to a good home instead of parting it out. If you have any more questions I'll try to help.

hello chargerboy..........
My goodness, if that was my car i would really take good care of it but i am not able to do this kind of work to do frame repairs as i dont have that kind of money to pay someone to do it or have the skills to do it myself. I am looking for a 1969,1970 B or C body car like a Fury or Polara to do a low cost 440 swap and make it a everyday driver with least amount of cost because i am on fixed income. I would very much like to have my OWN car. Its really too bad as i would have bought your car and drive it for next 30 years. I REALLY REALLY like the looks of your car the way it is. I live in northern calfornia and there is NO such thing as "honest" body shops as i dealt with many BAD ones. I am saving my money to buy a B or C body car with 383 but short on funds. If i was to buy your car, i would take greyhound bus to your town and buy the car and drive it all the way home to california as i sure would like to do that. Perhaps you may have a idea ?

Yes indeed. A new sub frame could be installed with a minimum of tools and a fair amount of confidense. Be careful. A few freinds could have it done in a week end. Finding a good sub frame and getting it shipped would be the big cost factor.

Thanks bboogieart!! I'll look into finding a different subframe and replacing it. The only problem with finding one close is rust. Does anyone have any suggestions for mopar salvage yards south of the salt belt?
