727 or 904?
 

So I was just wondering what type of torqueflite is in my 66 Fury III, 2bbl 318. I've heard from some people that it's a 727 and some think it's a 904.

Most likely if it is a 318 it would be a 904 - In older cars with small blocks, 340 was GENERALLY the only smallblock with a 727 in pax vehicles - not always the case after the 340 left the scene. crawl under and see if the is a peninsula pointing off - here is a good link to the pan description - http://www.dippy.org/info/diprsrcs.html

Ok i'll check underneath. I kinda figured it was probably a 904 but when i asked about trans. parts at NAPA the guy looked it up on their computers and said it had it 727.

Yeah it's definitely a 727. It has that penninsula pointing off the end of the pan.
