Hi all ! Just purchased a 66 plymouth sport fury. Owner asked 9500. Got him to take 8500. Car is a 383 4bbl soft yellow black interior, power steering,brakes, ac, auto. 105000 miles, Original interior nearly flawless. No rips, cracks or tears. Paint is driver quality, no rust anywhere, but faded in spots, and showing some patina. Glass and chrome very good, a little pitting in taillight surrounds. am/fm cd player underdash. New tires. Has fender skirts. Engine compartment all original and quite clean for the age. Cannot post pics. (techno-challenged) Trunk is perfect. black vinyl top. First vintage mopar purchase. car shipped from canada in 06 to previous owner for 15,000. He put 1,500 miles on it and sold it to me. I know the classic market is down right now, but how do you think i did? Will this car likely increase in value at some point? Dont worry about my feelings give it to me straight. Car is a strong #3. Also looks strange in the garage next to my 08 solstice gxp. Hows that for an odd couple. Thanks so much for your input positive or not!!

Sounds like a good buy to me. Hard to tell without pics tho. As long as your happy with the purchase thats what counts !

8500 is pretty steep to me,

Its all about how much you want in a car and pay for it and im sure the value will always only go up :D

Thanks all for the input. Love the car, Dont have any plans to restore it as its very nice as is. Maybe a repaint down the road. I have to say i am very impressed with the way the car rides and handles. It goes over bumps and you hardly feel it. The best power steering i have ever had in a car. She does have a healthy appetite for the gas though! Have 2 other vehicles already so you could make the case i dont need the car anyway, but when i first saw it i had to have it. have had no problems with the car but noticed the amp gauge needle moves alot between D and C depending on the rate of acceleration. Is this normal? Never seen this in any other car i have had. Thanks again

The amp gauge fluctuation is normal and typical of a '60s Mopar. My '68 does it, too.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Especially if it's running strong. No rust though, it'd practically be worth putting that money on a gutted car that's rust free! Awesome! And yes, it will increase in value. These beauties will only get more rare as time passes on. And as others said, as long as you are happy with your car, that's what matters most.

Sound steep to me too, maybe I'm cheap. Like said above, if you like it, it was a good deal. I paid $1000 for a truck I traded for my Chrysler, but it's a lowly 4 dr new port from 1968, and that was 10 years ago. (:confused:)
