Question How Do I Wake Up a 383?

I own a 1967 Polara with a stock 383.
What low budget things can I do to wake up this engine?
Intake manifold and Carb?
Headers?

won't take much. If you can find an old elde. "street dominator" intake. these worked excellent on the 383. Then get a cam but not too big of a cam. About 460-470
lift and about 255 260 duration (this way you can keep your cylinder pressure from going too low with the stock pistons) I'd go for just a basic Holley 650 vacuum secondary carb. If you get the "universal" version it will be cheaper. All you have to do is buy the "Holley Mopar linkage" that bolts on. The next step would be hedders but youd have to get an expensive set so you wouldn't have problems. HP 440 manifolds would be another good option. (they are being reproduced or just find used ones).

Any reccomendation on the proper headers for this application?

Do I have to use shortys or are there long tubes that will work n a '67 Polara?
