Exclamation 72 Cuda leaf springs - NEED HELP

My Cuda has a 44.5" centers distance between the front hangers (for the rear leaf springs). My 8-3/4 axle has 44.5" between the perches. But at the rear hangers (shackles) the centers distance is 47.5". This isn't making sense to me and I can't get the springs on. Do I need offset shackles? Do I need to move the perches out? How was factory set up?

Thx for any help!

Don't know if you got this figured out or not but this is the was the factory built them. Not many even notice but that's the way they are. It helps the car corner a bit better as it leans. Not sure what the exact rear measurements were tho. What did your rear end come out of? A 68-70 B body?

I've only found it on E bodies. I used to be heavy into them and noticed it when I went to move my springs in and install a B body housing but did find an article that talked about it later on...
