So Ive been attempting to open the center console in the Challenger which has yet to be opened since 1974 just to see whats in there but it just wont open. The key works, turns, pushes down, no problem but the door just wont lift. I have a feeling the hook or whatever is holding it is stuck but Im very unfamiliar with how this latches so some tips from you folks would be great as to what I can try.

 

Make a pass down the track,mine will open up all by itself every time! Seriously,you should be able to pry/spread it open with a flat blade screwdriver it's plastic so there is some give,or spray some pb blaster in the lock to get to the latch.
