Headliner in a '72 Challenger???
 

Anyone ever change one? Is there any words of wisdom? I have changed a headliner in a 66 Mustang before but the glass was out. The glass has already been installed on this one but the trim pieces around the front and rear glass should help a bunch!

my words of wisdoms get someone thats a pro i put a head liner in my el camino and wanted to put one in my road runner but the one in the el camino went really bad because all of the glue let loose and it was a pain in the butt you get one end in and the other end falls out its one of those things that makes you pissed off until someone else does it lol

does the challenger have a rib stye or a cardboard one i put mine in the dart [rib style] with great results let me know what kind of headliner you got i can help with the rib style

I believe it is the rib style. It appears to be the same type that I put in my Mustang years ago. It does not look too difficult to me right now, I just dont know how hard it will be to get it tight with the glass in it. With the Mustang, I pulled it tight and folded it over the edge of the glass opening and put binder clips on it to hold it. It really wasn't that hard. I am figuring this one will be a little harder but I think I can handle it okay. I was just looking for someone who has done it to see if they had any special pointers for me.

i know on my dart when i did it it was easy but then the glass wasnt in it but it had little metal triangles where the window jam is i got some 3m fabric glue put it on the headliner and the window jam area let it tack up and start from the middle and worked my way out i also used the little triangles to help hold it up turned out pretty good you might need some extra handswith the windows inplace plus its always good to try it first without the glue to see how hard it would be then go from there

Hey there jmartin99 welcome and the headliner is a 4 bow style and all you have to do is take all the trim off that holds the edges on and there is 4 bows be carful not to bend them and you just take them down and take all the edges off and put the bows back in place where there is a place for them and put them back in place where they go and there is like little steel hooks for the edges and stretch it to them and insert and make sure no wrinkles in liner but not to tight and in my exp/ i put tent glue on the edges where it clips in and then you should be able to put all your trim back on >>> its not that hard but you need a little patients when doing it but just take your time and it will go good for you but if you still dont feel comfortable i would just take it in and have a pro do it http://www.moparnuts.com/forums/imag.../eusa_pray.gif
