Tech help question Please...........

Hello to all, I'm still working on my 70 Challenger A66 car. It has the outside chrome mirrors ( Drivers side adjustable ) I finally figured out how to remove the glass on driver side for a re-chrome. Question, how do you get the glass out of passenger side mirror ? Are they glued in ? If I bust the glass, does anyone re-pop the glass only ? Appreciate any help

They are attached with some type of glue or adhesive. Use a heat gun to gently heat up the mirror until it detaches.

A glass dealer/shop should be able to cut you a new piece of mirror.

Thanks for the info, I'll go easy on the heat. I really appreciate your advise. They are really proud ( $$$ ) of what the re-pops sale for.

Hey, anybody trying to get the glass out of a 70 Challenger chrome mirror passenger side, it is not glued in as mentioned by a fellow member in this forum. The passenger side glass is held in with a male/female splined shaft. To remove, apply light pressure at joint under glass, and it will pop out. I'm sure a small amount of JB Weld will assure it will stay in-place after installation. One thing about the car world is, nothing is the same. Thought this might help someone in the future.
