Hey folks... Have been a Chev guy most all of my life but recently bought a Dodge !

Couldnt help myself...
98 laramie SLT 2500 HD... I'm pumped, but I'm not very well versed as far as what to expect... and what the scoop is on these things.. all I know is that it's a big mean SOB.. Can someone direct me to a place in the forum that deals specifically deals with this year and model?

Looking forward to being a part of the forums !

Cheers !

I guess my first question would be ... How big can I go with tires without modding anything.. It has 16's on it now.. I work at a tire plant and get FREE tires... lets put some meats on this thing to start ! Help me

Here's one... I'll get some more for you soon.
I'm open to all comments and suggestions as I need to gain knowledge about this truck... suspension , running gear etc... what to look for... what the normal problems are.. and what the hell do I actually have here.

This truck is from the US ( I'm in Canada).. and I've been told that there's only 50,000mi on the motor because it started to smoke at around 175,000 and the owner opted for a new motor. There's about 235,000 on the rest of her.

After only driving it for a few days , I notice that it's pretty " squirrely " over wash board bumps.. the rear end likes to dance a bit it seems, maybe I'm just not used to the 3/4 ton.

All in all... the truck has been cared for and is in great shape.. I just would like to talk to you people who know these things and gain some knowledge... thanks .. talk soon.

Is it 5.9L gas with a 46RE tranny or diesel?
