1974 cuda w/ 440 hp torque converter

help. got a 74 cuda w/440hp torque converter has no drain plug and no weights on it.Have strong vibration , a 727 hooked up and wonder if vibs because of no weights on t.c. forged crank.does flex plate need to be balanced?perplexed

If the 440 has a steel crank with then thin damper approx 1" wide then no weights are needed to balance it , if the front damper is over 1" thick most are tapered & closer to 2" thick it has a cast crank & will need weights on the converter or flex plate .

Hey all.
sounds like a tork converter failing....
The bearings are failing causing the "turbines" to miss alighn causing noise and generally lousy performance.
Untill lockup ingaged then u got all ur per formance.back
Can a pump fail? Or make noise?
yep.but diffent noises...and i like to add that the pump usually looses pressure. Before noise and a tork converter makes a wine or buzz..in my experience.
