Building your home theatre with the small flash disk via dvd player
You must know Apple TV, right? Yes, you can watch movies and pictures from the portable devices on it, whose capability is big enough to store them. Maybe you have realized what
I want to say; actually nowadays many DVD players are equipped with USB interface.
Below is the example for Philip DVD player, model: 3166K. The fans for Philip DVD can look up the tech support about it. It is quoted here:
The playback by Divx via the DVD player without the computer lets you enjoy high quality movie with the compression. DivX authentification is fit for DivX standard playback.
With the help of it, you can watch movies encoded by Divx in the comfortable living room. Divx is a technique of video compression based on MPEG4, which can allow you to store
the files with large capability such as movies, trailer and MV onto CD-R/RW and recordable CD-ROM. It is easy to use USB interface and you can directly play pictures and music
with flash disk, just plugging the device into the USB port of Philip DVD player. With it, you can share the enjoyment with your families and friends.
My DVD player is Philip model 3166K supporting USB interface. Today I learnt about playing videos on iPod with flash disk from a friend on line. I would like to have a try,
maybe it can not according to the theory. However, the DVD player supporting flash disk may be OK. I found my DVD player has the USB interface, so I had a try but failed. After
connecting them, it shows “can not interrupt” with nothing. Why it is? Anyone knows? Your help will be appreciated. Possibly it is due to the format problem. AVI encoded by
Dxiv should be done. So I converted a file into AVI format with Pavtube Video Converter. Of course, there is much software for
video conversion and you can choose one that you like. Remember the format mentioned above has the chance to succeed. Then transfer the converted files into PSP,ipod, zune or
your flash disk. Try again, it will be done successfully.
Below are the detailed steps:
1. Find the videos what you want to play or the ones shared with your friends. Use the software to encode again. Why do we do it like this? Because most DVD player support
the formats encoded by Divx. The office claims that it supports AVI encoded by Divx, in fact, it also can play MP4 files.
2. I use Pavtube Video Converter. Import the videos and choose the output format: AVI.
See the picture:
Notes: As for the advanced settings, you can choose to set or not. If the file is too large, you can adjust to reduce the bit rate.
After the converted files are ready, you can transfer the files into your portable devices or flash disk.

After conversion finished. Run Zune software, connect your Zune device to computer via USB cable, then the Zune software will detect your Zune player. Drag the converted video
to Zune software and click "Start to sync", then your video will be transferred to Zune. If you don't have Zune software, you can download it free from here: http://www.zune.net
The method for transferring them into flash disk: Generally, drag the converted files into the directory that you create on your iPod. Remember to create the directory, or you
won’t find the directory.
3. Connect DVD video/audio output cable into video/audio input cable of the playback devices like the TV set or OVH.
