Guys, the president is just a front man, think Congress. You have people there who are basically anonymous, stay there forever, and do whatever they want, knowing that most of us have no idea how they voted on an important bill. Congress writes and makes the laws, the President just asks for them, Congress writes and approves the budget, and almost anything the president does has to be run by congress. If we want to straighten this mess out, we have to get out of the mindset that the president is as important as he is, and be ready to change our representation, not just think, Wow, he got us a new bridge, I'm gonna vote for him. We pay for all the nice things they "give" us. It's not just someone else's congressman thats messed up.

No one knows the specifics yet, it's an 1100 page bill presented a few hours before the vote.

As far as we can tell, any energy source that's not "green" will have a tax imposed on it, the dirtier it is, the more you pay. If you provide a clean energy source, the Gov't gives you "credits" which you can sell to a dirty source to let them be "Cleaner". Of course, ALL of this is to be paid by the "polluters", NONE of it will be passed on in higher bills <koff koff>, even tho BO said during his campaign that this would cause utility bills to skyrocket, and he didn't think that $4 a gallon gas was unreasonable, he just didn't think it would get there as fast as it did.

Sorry, my 2 cents, global warming is bullshite. Its a naturally occuring, cyclic phenomenon. Just how did oil from biomass get under the frozen tundra of alaska? Must have been somewhat temperate at one time for the stuff to grow! Anyhow, the green ***** are peeing themselves right now, thier fingers will be into everything. Will I need to buy carbon offsets to cover my smoking habit? Im all for common sense initiatives that will make the planet a better place to live, but intense regulation is not the answer. They will tax the **** out of fuel and other energy to get us to use less. And that tax money will not go straight into other energy research like it should, it will go to pork and programs for the lame and lazy. Crackheads and junkies. Do you have any idea how much fuel a cargo container ship burns with a load of chinese **** aboard? Read this. http://gas2.org/2009/06/03/one-conta...-million-cars/ Now they want to screw a catalytic convertor to me lawn mower! Before you think I'm some ignorant redneck, I'm an electrician and have been schooled in energy efficiancy, I have over 30 cfl's in my house, and other than my Harley and my hotrod, I do my best to be concious of the environment. Point is, they want to tax and squeeze pennies out of us while the grossest of polluters are free to go about their business. Ya dont see catalytic convertors on these ships or on jets, do you? No environmental laws apply outside the 50 mile limit that i know of. Think how many folks would be taxed and regulated just to make up for one of these ships. I could be carbon-zero for years, and all they have to do is start that engine to erase it all. Priorites , people. First things first before you come after me and my Mopar. Thank you for your patience with my rant, Scotty
