What is your daily-driver ..??

I picked up my 90 Caravan 2.5 5 speed about 2 years ago. Great MPG. I am glad I got that when I did.

You ?

2001 dodge dakota sport, V6, 5 spd, 9 1/4 rear w/3.54 gears, regular cab, 2wd. I get 24 mpg. If I can get a posi unit with the carrier teeth on it for the speed sensor, then I'll raise the gears to 3.21. It has plenty of power to spare for it, thats for sure.

1999 Dodge Ram 1500 360/AOD 3:54 gears 16 mpg was driving it full time, but this is staying parked unless I need to haul anything.

Now driving the wifes 2005 VW Beatle AOD 30 mpg and my daughters (she just got her license this week) 1995 VW Cabrio 5spd 38+ mpg. I may be looking for another mpg car soon.

Hey DOC my daily driver is a 89 dodge 250 ram with the cummins diesel first year in a dodge pickup and also a 96 1500 ram and neither gets me an award for fuel ussage as i spend about 145.00 a week in the cummins and the 1500 gets really lousy millage but the cummins is alot better on fuel but the 4.89 a gallon makes me sick to the bones :(

vince99frc Jul 22, 2008 05:08 AM

milage

hey doc i guess i cant really answer that about how much the 89 gets , i have never really checked it out but i can usually get anywheres from 400 to 500 miles on a tank , just depends how and where i go , it is set up for the 55 mph as that is what it used to be when the truck was made and know doing 70/75 is sort of hard on it and plus being a 4x4 i usually do around 60/65 unless im in a hurry to get home from a hunting trip or something hehehe i have 362,000 miles on her and she still runs like a champ:D

Doc Jul 25, 2008 09:53 PM

chlngr1970 Dec 30, 2008 08:08 PM

I drive a 2002 Volvo S60 T5. 247 HP turbo gets up to 27MPG on the hwy. With bad traffic, I get 23mpg. It's been so long since I drove my Duster, ite seems real quick to me ;)

I'm hoping to have at least the Dart running this fall, and be able to drive that . I'm not sure what kind of mileage my '72 truck gets, but it isn't that great...probably around 12 MPG for a worn out 318/727.

3 years ago I picked up a 99 Caravan SE For $300. Had to change a strut to drive it away, but it's been the best vehicle we ever had.

BuckNeccid Jan 18, 2009 02:07 AM

Until Friday my daily driver was a 99 Jeep Cherokee...
It was cold enough here thursday nite that my Jeep froze up. Started FINE.... and there I go, merrily down the road, got about 3 miles before the steam started seeping from beneath the hood and smoke from the rear of the vehicle. By the time I got to the turn around, and headed back, it was spewing. 1 mile from the house, solid white steam/smoke, covering both sides of the highway, filling the interior of the Jeep, I could see almost nothing, had to drive with open windows in like 3 degree weather. Got it home, popped the hood, and found the upper radiator hose had popped off. I fixed it... Guess my daily driver now is the "part" I picked up friday... an '09 Challenger R/T, black, six speed. I like, I like.

when its warm out, the stratus and the 94 ram are the normal DDs, but i drive the demon quite a bit.
