1970 Dodge Challenger R/T barn find
 

Having been a mopar fan for years (Plymouth Duster owner), I new darn well what this car was when it fell in my lap and still can't believe it. I love my Duster, I call it the 351 killer :laugh:, but It might be going in time out for a while.

1970 Dodge Challenger R/T
Original paint, Burnt Orange with White interior/vinyl top (yuck)
What I believe to be a stock bore number matching 383 magnum and paired 4-speed.
She runs and moves, but haven't touched the break pedal yet as I'm afraid the drums will stick.
Has a head gasket leak as well. We believe it sat for 30+ years, most of which was in a storage unit. Appears 90%+ original.

Still can't believe it, but am beginning the process of deciding what to do. Can't afford the full stock restoration it deserves at the moment, and want to get it back on the road and looking nice as quickly as possible. Will do the interior and vinyl top, maybe clear coat the paint, but not sure what to do with the engine. Maybe redo the stock heads and keep the bottom end for now until I can afford to do it up right. We'll see what the chambers look like. I've seen a lot of good threads on the forum and I'll keep searching. Cool to see the stock airgap manifold and 4 barell holly.

I think it’s worth a quality paint job, probably 10 to 15 K$ without a full restoration if the floor’s and underhood are good. But with eyes on estimate it could be 40k ? But if you can’t do it right make a few bucks and pass it to the nexted guy.

It will get a full restoration in a few years when I can afford it, just dont want to get burned on paint and body to let it sit for years while I scrounge up more cash. As far as making a few bucks I don't expect to ever sell it.

Paint and bodywork is tough, picking the wrong guy can be a disaster financially in to Ways. The first and overall cost of repairs in a second in the quality of the work bringing down the value of a car.

Wow... Talk about a great way to come across a Challenger!!!!!!! Sounds like a good plan just fixing what needs to be fixed and cleaned up and run it for a while...
But be careful.... Them Dusters can get awfully angry at you for having a sexy E-Body around... lol
