my first tilt front end. cost less than $100. No torch or welder. All original steel. took 2 weeks to get the nerve to cut the fenders.

thank you, A street racer never tells how fast his vehicle is, lololo The truck weights a bunch. We only got to race it once last year unfortunately. I have a TCI 727 full manual /reverse shift transmission in it was supposed to handle 700 HP there a bouts. The rear bolt in sprag came apart at 100 mph going through the traps at the end of the quarter.. Scared the crap outta me. I thought I was going upside down when it was trying to lock the trans up. We've run a best of 13.50 @100 mph. It's back together with some changes. We're hopping for anything between a 12.8 to a 13.2. My limiting factor is the cylinder heads. I can't run aluminum cause I'm running KB dome top pistons and the weight of the truck doesn't help. We're pretty anxious to get it back to the drags if the weather here would cooperate. .

faster than yours......sorry I didn't see that you had put times down, my Plymouth has always been a 10 second street / strip car.
Your truck just needs a 500cid big block to start off. But it looks like fun!

truckracinpartsguy 03-10-2019 06:34 PM

I'm sure yours is faster. At 1000+ pounds lighter. I didn't build mine to be fast. I've had my blown 73 camaro, nitroused 88 vette, 56 F100 with a 460 and nitrous.. I wanted something different, old school, and that people would underestimate at the drags. It does that and runs consistent when I can keep transmissions together.

I see...

Sounds like a Blast !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bob like Trucks.... :)

I still think about a big block short box for a daily driver. I sold my short 4x4 that I had for twenty five years in 2010 might be time for another.

the begging of my 73 D100 that's pictured here. This was an original 440 truck,
This is the truck when I bought it. It had the original 440 in it . The kid I bought it from said old dude he got it from told him the motor overheated and blew the head gaskets. I had to pick the heads up at the machine shop.so I didn't trust the engine not to be cracked or anything and I already had a lot of small block stuff. I ended up paying $100.00 for the truck after I sold the engine and transmission out of it. The cab and front clip I later sold with a 4x4 frame and a bunch of junk for $400.00. The cab and clip that are on it now came from another truck I had. I tried to stay on somewhat of a budget.but I still have a little over 10G's in it. The transmission is the only thing I've ever had a problem with. I regretted selling my other hot rods but I had a 1 car garage and no place to put them. I started racing dirt stock cars after I demolished the vette and the city started writing me letters cause it was an unregistered vehicle so a guy that worked for me sold me 3 acres in the country. I had a shop built and moved. The funny thing is I sold the stock car before I moved.
