66 Dodge Monaco 500 Brakes

My Monaco has all drum brakes. Does anyone have original drums for this car or has anyone converted to Disc Brakes on this style car?

the ones you need might be on new yorkers. on new yorkers the tapered rear axle was last used in 64. but not sure how effects the drum size. my dad liked the tapered axle cause the bearings are cheaper and easier to put on. have one still laying on the floor where dad left it, 1987 just before he died.

I use 73 Plymouth fury disc brakes. you need the spindles and brackets from the donor car. everything else from napa

your 66 came with flange axle. and you DO want to keep them. despite its flanged axle. there is a bearing called the Green Bearing, that is said to be the one to use. BUT i have heard one guy say its not that great, just one guy. something you my not know is that the tapered axle has a drum that takes a specl puller to get the drum off. as far as disc brakes i do not know any thing. iam sure our friends here know more that i about disc brakes.
