Question 74 dodge dart swinger

Hello Ihave a1974 dodge dart swinger
and im looking to buy new wheels Ifound some i really like and are extremely cheap but they are 8.5 wide will they fit????

Its a 74 swinger two door stock the rims are 18×8.5

You should stick with the factory wheels. It looks allot better and makes the value of the car high. I run into that allot in my job.my duster has janky after market rims it looks horrid. I'm buying some original rally rims. Trust me you will thank me.

I would keep the original wheels but I'm switcHing to disc brakes and there 5×4.5 and factory wheels are 5×4 So Ihave no choice

You can find re man rims to fit with disk brakes. I find them all the time. You just gotta look.

so you have stock 14s on back and 18s on front since nobody makes 18s in 5x 4

No I haven't got the rims yet i have the original all the way around Ihhaven't put the discs on yet would a 7.5 fitt

yes they will. but you need to change out the rear axle to get a 5X4.5 bolt pastern. the only ones i found in teh 5X4 is a 15X7 rim.

I don't know if I would do it but there is an adapter available to re drill to the 4 1/2 size. It doesn't leave a lot of material, may not be legal at racing tracks...

the best and safest way would be to find a donor car that has the parts needed for the conversion. find a car with disc brakes and get the upper control arms and spindles plus brake calipers. and the rear axle as well.

the all you need is the rear axle from drum to drum. if the off set of the rims is close to factory the should fit with out too much trouble on the rear not sure about the front though.
