hello.
Hello everyone I'm Dave and I'm going to be aquireing a 1973 Plymouth satellite Sebring plus with a 400 and 727 torque flight the car also comes with a 4 speed trans flywheel and everything to convert it to stick but a clutch. The car is very solid and fairly clean but it may need a k member the motor mounts were cut off and idk if it will be easier to find a new k member or weld mounts back on I'm pretty new to these cars and don't know much about them. Here she is at the current owners til I go pick it up. Any tip or advice will be appreciated and I can't wait to start tearing into it and making it nice once again.

just put Elephant ears on it.

Welcome to the forum! That is a decent project that you are getting. She definitely has quite a bit of potential.
Thanks I'm happy with the car that's for sure. And when you say elephant ears I'm assuming that's motor mounts lol.
yep elephant ears is an aluminum plate that bolts to front of the engine and ties to each side of the body. but if the engine isnt balanced real good youll feel it in the body. i have not used one. but did know a guy that did. but dont remember the deals. best to find someone that has done it. the things to watch. 1. drive train alinement. 2. and pulley and belt alinement
Looks like a very good start. Elephant ears are more for a race car, I think you can get them with small polyurethane bushings.. Easiest way Find another K frame The placement of the mounts is critical for a happy drive train... That's not to say it is not impossible. Just depends on your skills

Well I work at a speed shop and I'm pretty good with the tool I have but something that critical I'd probably pay my boss to do he is an amazing fabricater and has built full chassis form his outlaw drag car so it will plbe a piece of cake for him I wish the mounts weren't cut off or if I can find another k member I'll just swap it and sand blast it all and get it painted nice.hopefully swapping it to a manual won't be to much of a pain. I always take tons of pics so it will be well documented and form my age I wanna show my talent and what I'm capable of doing so it should turn out good.

Here's a pic of the engine bay It the only one I have as of now I haven't looked at the car on person yet I'm going tomorrow to look it over. But its a done deal its pretty much mine lol.

Looks like a great project. |
Welcome aboard.
I'm now on the hunt for a k frame hopefully I can turn one up
yo
:welcome2:A K member shouldnt be to hard to find they make tubular ones too. Bill
May have found one for 100 bucks will one from a 1973 charger se with a 400 will it work for the satellite sorry its probably an easy answer but Im not really familiar with these cars yet.
I'm not sure what's it called but I'm also looking for the mount for the z bar I guess it comes off the frame I'm sure if need be I can fabricate one hut If I can find one that would be great
Satellite & Charger Those are still B bodys. May I make a sugestion ? That would be to take the rubber bushings out and make or buy spacers to mount the K frame solid to the body They are available from many suppliers will help handling. There are also some welding bracket modifications to strength the steering box mounting

OK thanks for the tip may as well replace em while its apart so the charger one will fit? I've heard of people using hard plastic practice hockey pucks as motor mounts would they work to replace the rubber bushings unless a kit is fairly cheap I've used hockey pucks as solid motor mounts once and they worked amazing just had to drill em out and put a sleeve in em I'm open to any suggestions or opinions while the cars pulled apart I wanna do it right and make it real clean the motor and trans are gonna get a good once over and some fresh paint to make it nice any tips to make the car more driveable will be greatly appreciated I'm gonna try to hammer it out in a few day if I can find the parts I need. I just wanna get it going so I can slowly work on it the outside will be ugly but the motor and engine bay is gonna be spotless.

Thank you I'm hoping to learn a lot from this forum to help me fix this car up right and make the right improvement on the car to make it more reliable its getting antique plates so its not gonna be driven a whole lot but its gonna go to every show I can make it to lol.
