Hello from great britain
Hello,
I was looking on the net and came across this so decided to sign up. I have been into Mopars for a long time, but here in the UK dont get to see very many, apart from occasionally at car shows.
My favourites are the '69 to '73 C body Fury/Polara and the '75 to '78 B body Fury/Monaco. I remember these well from Hill Street Blues, which also I think had some '71 to '74 Satellites as well.
I would love to own any one of these although I dont know what the practicalities of locating one from the States would be as they were never imported officially to the UK although I have seen a couple

Cheers, will do. The only Mopars which you did used to see odd times in more than tiny numbers were the A body Dart/Valiant. In the late 60s The Rootes Group who were UK based and made Hillmans, Sunbeams etc got into financial difficulties and were bought out by Chrysler.
The biggest car in their range was the Humber Snipe, which dated from the mid 50s and had a straight 6 engine, it looked a bit like a scaled down 55 Chevy. By '67 this was no longer selling so Chrysler axed it and made a half hearted attempt to import Darts as a replacement but they did'nt sell well in Britain.
However you did used to see a few and I did come across one for sale locally about 8 or 9 years ago but it needed a lot of work and I really would like a B or C body.
I think my ultimate favourites would be a '72 Fury, I like the divided looped bumper/grille or one of the last B body Fury/Monacos, a '77/ '78. I also much prefer the 4 door variants, must have been those cool cop cars on Hill Street and Kojak (dont mention Dukes of Hazzard, that was rubbish!)
Oddly, I dont find the 2 door hotter versions like the Challenger, 'Cuda or Charger quite as interesting and would be happy with a 318 I must just like stuff that does'nt immediately stand out!
