Hey,all.I have a 727 shift problem
I had my 727 worked on due to a busted reverse band.I got it back and the gentleman who rebuilt it said he lightened it up a bit. It used to bang shift pretty hard. Now first to second is good, but second to third is soft.Any clues? Thanks in advance.cobaltdkd@aaahawk.com

Do you know how it check line pressure ? ... BTW - what does the rebuilder say ?
He moved out of town, but told me to adjust the rod from the carb to the trans.I didn't think about line pressure because all other gears work fine. What next?
First things first ... check line pressure. It is not rocket-science.
Mopar 727 line pressure
What should the line pressure be?
Under wide open throttle ...it should be about 90 psi.
Line pressure
I will check it over the weekend,so I put the gauge in line with either trans line and kick throttle open,it should be 90 psi.? If I find it is not 90 psi,how do I adjust,or can I? Thanks for the help so far.

Are you aware where the test "ports" are to pressure-check the trans?
Pressure test ports
No,I am not.Where are they?
The line pressure port is on the passenger side of the trans ... about 6 inches above the pan .. in the center.
