I'm a newbie to this site today as well. So, take what you get from me as one flea on a dogs back! I've been told that the 77 440's, most of what were referenced were RV 440's had horrible low performance heads. If those were replaced with a better head one could increase the HP and Torque quite handsomely. If I were to guess, I'd say your engine is probably making 450 Horsepower at the crank around 480 lbs of torque. Trying my best with the little bit I know about these cars and their engines. This I think is a realistic number Remember what I said above though... ...hopefully someone with an engine IQ over mine (100) will comment. :yikes: |
Thanks a lot! I have heard that the later blocks were low compression. But it was cheap and it sure doesnt disapoint

Welcome to the Forum... Can't add much to the answers you have already gotten to your HP question.... Be sure to check out the Mopar of the Month contest.....

Welcome!
I'd say probably 375-400hp. You can get more out of it though with some earlier, more performance heads and maybe a intake. |
so with a intake and better breathing heads you should not have a problem achieving 1.3 1-5 hp per c i

stock intake for what year? If its has an egr port it's not the best. It works but the crossover passage is a royal pain. The 69 intake is better.
Headers dont help though. The cam seems a little to extreme for street racing so it's not a 400 hp stocker but 360 ish. The heads if you shaved 0.040 off them are actually pretty good. |
yea, i was thinking the same, plus or minus 400hp. some work into those heads might help!
