i will like to know how many dusters were build in 1979.i try to look for info on the internet and anywhere give mea clue.i learn in 79 the duster was a line package and the side windows.does the a42 code on the fender tag mean duster package???thanks for any help!!!!!!

I don't know if any were built here in the states back in 79. Back then I beleive the car was called a Plymouth Volare. I could be wrong though.

78d200 back in 1996 i use to live in miami florida an i buy another 79 duster that car was in original condition .it has the super six engineand the duster badges on the fenders.im sure there were dusters build in 78 79 80 not in 76 77.mi doubt is how many?i found the info i got in;www.moparautos.com/volare 78-80.htm.i hope someone can give me a clue.

79-80 Volare came with the duster package on them (A42 code ) I dont know how many were built in 79 but there was 5568 of them made in 1980. I'll keep digging for ya.

thanks polaradude.is a mistery in 79 i guess.i read a rumor in my search that only 550 to 600.but i will like to know the fact.:confused::confused:

Hey Pedro, get the numbers of your fender tag under the hood, we will decode it and get the number of your car at least.

Hi pedro, welcome to the forum. Nuce mope. I my be wrong on this but. chrysler did alot of weird stuff in different countries, like useing 68-70 dart body styles in 76-9 in south america. 76-8 super bees in mexico on a duster body. do you know where your car was imported from ? that may shed a litttle more light on your search. Ive never seen a 78-80 duster that comes close to looking like your car.

dude is on the right track give us the fender code and that will tell you how many were made up till yours. you could have the first of that year or the last of that year. it would be cool to say i have one of the first ten built. btw i like your ride.
