Lack of Oil
I have a 426 wedge I had blue printed in 1990 and am just now getting the project finnished. I pulled the distibuter and turned the oil pump to veirfy oil but am only getting oil on the drivers side of the heads, any suggestions would be apreiceated.
Thanks' |
Have you tried turning the crank while priming, this should align the cam journal transfer passage with the other side. I think they line up when TDC on damper is at approx. 10+2:00.

You need a oil priming shaft to spin with a drill and rotate the motor like 500 suggested.

I dont know if the older engines had the "notch" in the end of the shaft. The book says http://i42.tinypic.com/65zbt0.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/xqcocy.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/mt3yf6.jpg |
Than you all for your imput and welcoming me to the Forum.
I am using a shaft and drill motor to turn the oil pump. The shafts do not have the notch mentioned, I have the Chilton hard cover book also and tried to figure this out on my own but needed this imput, I ordered a new long ratchet and a deep socket so I can spin the crank, I'll let you know what appens, Thanks' again. |
