new ride and back to forum - long time away

Hi Guys

Been away for a very long time - previously Blackmopar on here but I forgot all my stuff and I just picked up a new 65 Dodge Monaco that isn't black so I figured Id just start fresh - lol

Anyway - great to be back - this one is bought to be a daily driver - we'll see how reliable the previous owner made her - already replacing rear wheel cylinders from the trip home.

First question - were rear lap belts not required in 65?

Momma doesn't want me driving the boys around until I at least install lap belts - haven't torn out the rear seat to see if maybe they are just hiding????

thanks

Ill post a couple pics here as soon as able

Welcome back! Nice! I would think it would have belts. I guess I'm not 100% though!

if iam right that year model will have seat belt bolt anchors in the frame for the rear belts. so if you use stock belts and bolts you should be fine. but do NOT use just any bolt off the shelf. my 67 charger manual shows 4 anchor bolt holes for the rear belts. in the frame behind the rear seat, the two most out side ones are in the wheel well. the 2 out side holes on the left and the right are for having 2 belt set up. the two most inside holes is for the 3 rd belt. the bolts are like the shoulder bolts used for tooling. but with a large hex head. but cant find the torque spec for the bolts. ill guess 60 ft lb

Oooooo...I wanna see the inside!
