Newbie!! 1966 plymouth valiant story.
Hello,
Just a short story as to how I got my 66 Valiant Signet. The car was bought new in 66 by my grandmother. She gave my family the car in the late 70's. My bother and sister drove the car for a few years. Then the car sat for about 6 years. I started driving it in 1988. Met my wife with it! Rebuilt the engine and trans. Drove the car for a few years. Cracked the block. Sold the car to a friend. He drove the car from NJ to Ohio for year with cracked block. Every time temp gauge would read hot, pull over fill radiator, and keep it movin'. He did this for years. He stopped driving the car in 1994. Put the car in a garage and left it thier. He came over about a moth ago and said, "you want your car back?" Talked to my wife. She was all for taking it back!! So, Sunday I went with a trailer and picked it up!! I need to get it running. Clean 14 years if cat droppings off it!! But it is great to have the old girl back home!! Just my story!! |

I miss my '66 Signet hardtop. It had a Hi Perf 273, Hurst 4-spd, & posi rear-end. Also bucket seats & front disc brakes. I wonder if there are any still around with that rare combo. It was basically an early version of a Cuda Coupe. Had a '75 Swinger hardtop after that. Now drive a custom 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan, plus many project cars & trucks (non Mopar). dca-sam
