VERY new to this...

Just got a 1964 Dart with a 1964 Barracuda 273. Have no clue what I got myself in to. Runs bad, was told a cyl has a bent or open valve. Got the car for myself and my son. Power steering but what fluid? Haha what did I just get in to? Any help would be great!

If you are going to make a fun toy out of it ? I would get rid of the 273 and put a 360 in it. Just go to AutoZone or where ever and get a bottle of power steering fluid... But Dextron fluid will work !!!

Welcome. Great little car, easy to work on. Curious how old is your son and what are your mechanical abilities? You'll get any help you need here, my favourite forum with tons of knowledge and no attitude.

Welcome to the forum... Pics?

Anything could make it run bad... Gas, carb, timing, cap, rotor, plugs, ect ect... I would start by checking things.

A video is better such for help then words with something like this.

Good luck!

Welcome to the forum
I would do a compression test
and if one cylinder has less than the others,
put some oil in that spark plug hole and check compression again,
If the oil helped it is rings, if it does not help it is a valve
