99 Chrysler Cirrus won't shift into 4th gear
 

I just bought a 99 Chrysler Cirrus yesterday with an automatic transmission and 159,000 miles. It won't shift into 4th gear when in drive. It shifts from low to 2nd to 3rd just fine, but won't go into 4th. Cruise and speedometer work fine. Is there some kind of overdrive button that I haven't found yet? If not, any idea what could be wrong with it?

I would first try observing the trans linkage from the engine compartment while somebody engages the shifter through the detents to ensure it is moving smoothly throughout the range of motion.

I hope you didn't get the 2.7 V6 even the 4 cyl had oil leaks from the head gasket Have you checked to make sure you have a 3sp /OD trans

OP is over two years old, I'm sure he's got it handled by now!:)
