383 with a 361 Block From The Factory ?
I have heard that during 1965 - 66 some 383s were built using blocks with 361 casting numbers. -- Any info out there regarding this ?

I havent heard of it, but seeing how similar they are, I can imagine that.
A slightly bored out 361 block, maybe the plant was short on 383 blocks? |

383 With 361 Block - They Did It
They did it. -- I have one. -- The Guy that sold it to me, said that it was a 383. I checked the casting numbers, on the block, and it indicated that it was a 361. - A friend that worked in a Plymouth garage, back then, told Me that the actual cubic inches was stamped on a pad, near the base of the distributor. -- Sure enough, I scraped away the crud, and the paint, and 383 was stamped there. -- Basically all parts, except the pistons & rings, interchange between the two.

May have just been a paper mistake not a manufacturing problem
