3.3 "backfire problem"

New here so hope this is in the right place. I've got a 93 gv with a 3.3 high mileage. I've had a problem with it using coolant. There was a point it dripped out the exhaust, and I used a sealer, stop leak etc. on it. Never had any problems with it actually running though. It has set for awhile, and when I started it back up wound up with a radiator leak, replaced radiator and a new cap that was bad, but it has developed a hesitation when it has a load on it. Reminds you of a backfire through the carb-if it had one. It seems fine with no load, revs fast, comes back to idle etc. but hesitates and does the pop thing when you give it the juice in gear. It has new plugs, newer coil etc. I'm kind of limited on knowledge of fi, and dont have much here for tools either for that matter. I've read that there were intake gasket problems, and I have tried shooting some carb cleaner around on it, but havent got any reaction to that. Hoping maybe somone can clarify this a little for me.
