I have seen a small block PT at the Mopar Nats, I have pics of it on my other computer. I will get them posted in the next few days. It's a pretty cool looking car.

Didn't someone post a pic of a PT with a 440 shoehorned in it?

BuckNeccid 02-19-2010 05:34 AM

Yea, my buddy did it. He did have some problems with the steering, but it's finally worked out. He did his best to make it look factory. And Why not, here's a couple pics of it again:

great car, but why didnt he do it with a 2 door?

BuckNeccid 02-19-2010 03:15 PM

He bought it new, ran over 200K miles on it back and forth to work. His wife wanted a new car, so he bought her a new car, took her old one and then started on the PT. It really was a family car before he started, two kids still in school ya know?

Dunno if you can see it in the pics or not, but we were talking about it one day, and he was gonna re-badge it as a PT Bruiser, but someway it came around to an R/T Cruiser. BTW, that's still the factory paint on it, cept for the engine compartment and other places underneath where he constructed stuff.

did he ever try it on the track?

BuckNeccid 02-21-2010 06:26 AM

Not yet 67, when he redid the front suspension, he didn't figure all the angles right, and ended up with about a 40' turning radius. He's just worked that out this winter. Odds are we'll hit the 1/8th here this summer some time. He did a D-50 with basically the same setup a few years back, and when he sold it, the new owner took it to the track and ended up running like a 9.6. That wasn't expected, but it was a fun ride. The new owner had it in one of the mags if anyone saw it, kinda a turquoise blue.

67 GTX 02-21-2010 07:16 AM

how worked was that motor to run a 9.6?
or is that 1/8 time?

Mr.Duster 02-21-2010 10:19 AM

wow that is pretty cool.

BuckNeccid 02-21-2010 02:17 PM

I"m not sure what all he had done to it, the only things I know for sure was Eddy Heads, headers, and the 2 4bbls. If I'm not wrong, I THINK he had a set of .030 13-1's that he put in there, but I can't swear to it, and it's been so long ago it's not funny. The 9.6 (1/4) wasn't run here, the guy who bought it said he ran it, and that was reported in either the magazine article or when he was talking to Craig. Yea, I know, that's one hell of a time to be running in a street ride.
