1972 RoadRunner Clone (help please)
 

so basically i bought a 1972 satellite and its overall in great condition... but i want to repaint... basically get all the body work done... BUT i am green at cars... i get the jist of sanding... priming... painting... i just dont exactly know what to do overall...


if someone could help me out with like a step by step "how to do" or even get in contact with me by other means that'd be great...


i live in the NC area and would definately be down to meet up for some hands on help to...

it all depends on how far you really want to go with the body work and paint a good restoration starts by completely striping the car from all of its parts everything from the interior to the fenders, bumpers,grills and engine bay, glass you name it or other wise you can just do your main body but then you may see an difference in color a complete resto can be a big $$$ if all your parts are good you can put them right back on other wise they should be replaced or repaired take pictures of everything you take off and how its goes back on it will bite you right in the butt if you dont because youll forget how it goes back on

Speaking from my experiences, mostly bad ones, first save all the money you will need to do the job. Now double it. Theres nothing worse than a half done project, or two laying around waiting for money. If the car is running and looks half decent, enjoy the summer and wait till winter. I've found many video tutorial how to's on paint and body on the web for free. Spend some time reading and you'll find out if bodywork and paint is something you want to tackle on your own. Good luck.
