Battery in the trunk ??
#2
It's doable.. The Super Stock Darts had their batteries mounted in the trunk. Might be able to adapt some parts OR Just Put it over the Right rear side in an enclosed battery box with a vent running thru the trunk Run heavy cables, don't cheap out.... Check with Summit racing or Mancini Racing for parts. IF you have a battery shop in your area?? They could do a proper crimp on of the connector ends. Make sure the frame grounds are good..

One question you need to ask is, "am I ever going to a track?"
If you do, you'll need to have certain things. I believe you either have to have the battery in an enclosed metal box, or a metal firewall added behind the back seat
You need to have a disconnect (this gets a little envolved) that NOT ONLY disconnects the battery FROM THE OUTSIDE of the trunk, AND the button must PUSH NOT PULL to disconnect, BUT it MUST ALSO KILL the engine.
The thing you must understand about that, is if the engine is running fast enough to cause the alternator to operate, when you simply pull the battery connection, the engine will continue to run on the alternator.
Obviously, from people like NHRA's point of view, this is a problem
You need to either run an AGM (truely sealed, no vent required) or run an externally vented battery. I was actually thinking about this, and discovered that some of the Mercedes replacement batteries are externally vented.
Obviously you need to secure the battery well, and use large cable. Many use welding cable
If you only run one cable, you need to provide a good ground to the body, and up front, provide a big jumper from the engine block (or transmission) to the body.
Personally, if you are not going to any dragstrips, I wouldn't even bother with a disconnect.
