Inner wheel seal with dust lip -orientation?
These inner wheel seals have a large dust lip on them. Does it go on the outside? The sealing lip with the smallest id points the other way -so I would assume that it points inward?.

The other side has no flat metal part, just a metal edge/rim. I got confused by all the shade tree mechanics on youtube hammering seals in with a piece of wood -which would not be possible with that dust lip. |
I could not find a photo with a quick search that i did... The point of the extended lip it to reach farther towards the backing plate and cover the spindle complete. That is why the large lip goes to the outside of the hub. I use a pipe to drive mine in... You dont have to use that seal. But I use them when I get them.
