Interior work

I am starting to replace the interior in my 69 convertible. Legendary sent the material to replace the rear side panels. My side panel has a chrome trim piece that is fastened along the top of the panel. To replace the material I will need to remove the chrome trim. Once I file off the studs holding this chrome trim, I am not sure how to reattach this trim. Does anyone know how this is done?

I called Ledgedary this morning. They advised me not to file the stud but to gently pry off the washer from the stud. To secure it afterwards, place the washers back on and gently peen it over. Then add a little JB Weld on top the stud for insurance. It worked like they said. The people at Ledgedary Interiors are very helpful.
I just hope my interior comes out as nice as yours Rexus.

I will post some pics when its complete. Not sure what will come first, getting the car done or learning to post pictures. Your talking to a guy that just switched from dial-up 5 months ago.
