parking brake shaft

parking brake shaft

ok so I pulled the valve body out to replace the selector shaft seal. all went smooth till I was reassembling everything. while trying to snap on the e-clip it went flying and I pulled out the parking brake shaft. now I cant seem to get it back in. any suggestions? btw its on an 86 727

OK YOU'RE ALL RIGHT THE PARKING ROD THAT GOES BACK TOWARD THE TAILSHAFT OF THE TRANY GIVE IT A SLIGHT BANG IT WILL POP BACK INTO POSITION.

ok sweet I was afraid to force it in didn't want to break anything

ok well I tried to give it the bang and it doesn't seem to want to go in could something have slipped out of place or do I need to turn the drive line to line something up? felt like the bar wanted to bend before it slipped back in just don't want to break anything

twist the output shaft a bit to allow the pall to slip into place. It only goes into one spot though so it can be tricky.
