Smart Strip!
Smart Strip!

this Smart Strip stuff is fantastic!!
My son has started to show more interest in our truck, especially in how it looks. He just refinished the hood scoop and wants to refinish the bumpers also. The bumpers are going to be a task as they look to have been painted several times and the rear one is that diamond plate witch will make sanding a real pain.
At around $50 - $60 a gallon I wanted to try the Smart Strip in a lower cost aerosol can first. I recently purchased on old style air cleaner that was pretty pitted and needed to be stripped and repainted. So this was our test project.
We followed the directions on the can and because it was a little colder out than recommended we gave it a full 24 hours to do it's magic.
With very little effort and a piece of steel wool the paint just rubbed right off down to bare shiny metal. Now it did not remove the rust of coarse but it got all the paint out of the way making it easy to see where the bad spots were.
Now I am truly confident the $50 for a gallon jug will be well worth the money when it comes time to get started on the bumpers.
Thanks bremereric for the great tip!!
Joe.
