Stereo Install in 1978 Cordoba Antenna problem??
Does anyone know how I can get the stock power radio antenna to work with an aftermarket Pioneer CD reciever? The factory am/fm/8track used a current sensing controller on the power cable (ignition switched lead). There was no direct wire from the factory deck to the antenna. I tried using the same power source for the new deck thinking it might be able to sense the current flow. It didnt work. The pioneer deck has a blue wire that can be used to turn power on for a external amplifier. I think it could also be used for the antenna but I dont know where in the cordoba's circut to connect it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Zeus

I had the same problem with my 1977 Cordoba, I am on radio #3 a cd player, but when I had the tape deck (#2) which replaced the 8-track (#1) I had a switch next to my equalizer that raised and lowered the antenna. This combination only seemed to work together as when I put in my new cd player the switch wouldn't control it anymore or it wouldn't automatically go up or down. So what I have now is an internal antenna, one that mounts discretely on the inside of the windshield and I think it works much better then the other one. Its up to you, a switch may be easy for you, but I think the easiest solution is an internal antenna.
