vibration

Have a vibration that i can't seem to find. Put new universial joints in drive shaft. Didn't help. Could drive shaft itself be the problem. How about something in transmission. Hate to put new drive shaft in if thats not it. Any idea's Thanks 64 valiant 360/ push button AT. Something new universial joint I put in last summer is loose and seems to be bad. Wondering about the angle of the drive shaft from trans to rearend. Is there a set degree that it should be? Doesn't look like the yoke on drive shaft goes in trans very far is there a bearing in the tail shaft of a 727? How far should it go in?

Drive shaft could be bent, tail shaft bushing in trans could be wore out.. Has the converter been changed.. A 318 and 360 Converter are different.. A 360 converter has weights on it. 318 does not... A 360 is external balance and a 318 is internal balance..

Take your drive shaft to a good drive line shop and have them spin it up. They will be able to confirm if it is balanced or not.

At what speeds do you feel the vibration? Does it change with acceleration? Coasting? Braking? Parked?

thanks for the reply.Converter has been changed.Tail shaft bushing will be something I will look at this week. It did do it a little last summer but seems to be worse now. One more thing I put new wheels and 2 new tires on it this winter.Just doesn't feel like tires out of balance. I do think it could be the drive shaft itself. Just hoping it might be something else. Thanks for the reply

78D200 Thanks for the reply.Seems to do it from about 30mph on I'm not sure yet about coasting or braking. Need to be on a smooth road again to try that stuff. Around town hardly notice it. At steady speed on smooth road it does it faster as you go faster but doesn' seem worse. Not a constant vibration kind of a vroom--- vroom. Thanks for your reply

Bremereric Thanks for the reply. I think you are probably onto the problem.I was hoping that wouldn't be it. Because the closest place to get the drive shaft tested or a new one made is about 50 miles from here. Oh well just another problem to solve. Thanks for the help

DID you put the correct 360 converter in ? OR use the B&M 360 flex plate ???
