Will 360 Magnum bock and heads bolt to my 72 cuda with 904 transmission?
I was going to rebuild my 318 cuda, but I got one heck of a great deal on a Magnum 360 short block (crank, pistons, etc.) and even the Magnum 2.02" valved heads. I hear they flow some good numbers.
I am pretty sure the answer is yes to my install question, but I am wondering what issues I will encounter. I think I read that motor mounts needs modification. Any details there? Bolt pattern should be fine to 904, and there is a flywheel with the block, so that covers balancing, right? Anything else I am missing? Any cam or build suggestions for a slightly choppy idle? I have a Holley dual feed 650 for it. I am using the camquest6 program, and 420hp is coming up pretty easily with those specs. Amazing. Glad I did not fuck with the 318. Thanks all. I will keep you posted on the build. -cudaracer |
Depending on year and type of converter may not be compatible. Hydraulic lock-ups have a different trans input shaft. The bellhousing will need notching for the crank sensor if used.

Coverter?

Torque converter. Internal vs. external engine balancing. Older trans-newer block may not work.
