1955 belvedere trunk lid

I bought new torsion bars and the trunk still will not stay up. I just bought the car recently. Any suggestions

hmmm are they "Xed" in the perch? i never replaced them but im curious.... so ill pull one and see if they need to be (cranked) and ill count the turns if any.. i got a junk 67 newport for a test dummy. ill take a vid and post it for you.... if my cam will let me
