1966 valiant 200 safe to pull 1200 pound trailer?
I have an original 1966 Valiant, great shape, low miles, super 6. I want to go camping this summer and pull a vintage trailer. While I have no doubt about the engine capacity, the brakes while excellent, are concern for tackling the hills in Pennsylvania. I do not wish to switch to disk. money is a factor. thanks for the help

Your car probably can handle it, but I would take it easy and make sure that nobody is infront of you. As long as the brakes are in good shape, they should be able to stop the car and trailer

they did it back in the 60's nothing has changed aside from the date

I scared myself the other night on the FDR drive when i forgot that I drive a 30 year old car hahah.
just sayin :-) |
That is a really good way to look at it mopardrt! Plus 1200 pounds is probably between a third and half of what the car weighs, so you should be good. Back in the day, they probably had mom, dad, 3 kids and a trunk full of crap plus the trailer.

ya
i agree with everyone but remember the car is old, so try and take it easy |
